The Agency for Workforce Innovation is Florida’s lead state workforce agency and directly administers the state’s Labor Market Statistics program, Unemployment Compensation, Early Learning and various workforce development programs.
Workforce development policy and guidance in Florida is provided by Workforce Florida, Inc. Workforce Florida and the Agency for Workforce Innovation are partners in the Employ Florida network which includes 24 Regional Workforce Boards who deliver services through nearly 100 One-Stop Career Centers around the state.

Workforce Florida, Inc. was created by Governor Bush and the Florida Legislature with the passage of the Workforce Innovation Act of 2000, Chapter 445, Florida Statutes. A 45-member board appointed by the Governor oversees and monitors the administration of the state’s workforce policy, programs and services carried out by the 24 business-led Regional Workforce Boards and the Agency for Workforce Innovation. Direct services are provided at nearly 100 One-Stop Centers with locations in every county in the state.
Workforce Development Boards were established in 1996 by the Workforce Florida Act of 1996 and its role has been reinforced by the federal Workforce Investment Act of 1998 and Florida's Workforce Innovation Act of 2000.
There are 24 such boards in the state, each serving their local regions. The following Boards are ones which have key Aviation and/or Space industry or programs in their region.
